Alyssa Rubin joined Direct Energy Business (DEB) via the 2014 acquisition of Hess Energy Marketing. She is Director of Regional Natural Gas for DEB, the largest marketer of natural gas in the Eastern US. In this role, she is responsible for retail pricing and the delivery of natural gas to all commercial, industrial, small business and residential customers across the eastern US.
During her tenure with Hess and Direct Energy, she held a variety of roles in operations, marketing and process excellence. She joined Hess in February 2003 as Regulatory Affairs Director, acting as liaison to the state and federal regulatory bodies that oversee the energy industry across Energy Marketing’s footprint. Prior to joining Hess, Alyssa was Executive Director of the NJ Board of Public Utilities. She has also served as Policy Advisor to NJ Governor Christine Todd Whitman.
Alyssa was recently re-appointed to her second term as North American co-Chair of Direct Energy’s Women in Energy (WIE) employee network. WIE is working to establish programs that support the careers of Direct Energy’s female employees while also coordinating with the efforts of several other newly formed employee networks around the company.
Alyssa holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and French from the State University of New York at Binghamton, a Master of Science in Public Policy from the Eagleton Institute of Politics at Rutgers University, and an MBA from the Stern School of Business at NYU.
Alyssa has three children who she is gently helping out of the nest. She enjoys cooking and baking for friends and family, planning her next vacation destination and supporting her husband’s music endeavors.
