Martha Ruiz-Cornejo is senior vice president, Human Resources, Leadership & Development for Univision Communications Inc (UCI), the leading media company serving Hispanic America. In her role, she oversees the implementation of strategies to identify, develop and retain top talent to achieve UCI’s mission to empower, educate and entertain Hispanic America, and provides HR leadership for all of Univision’s operations across the Local Televisions and Radio stations in the Country. She also leads the implementation of Learning and Development programs to support UCI’s strategic priorities, and works with leaders and employees across the Company to drive our diversity agenda.
Ruiz-Cornejo joined Univision in 2011 as a regional HR director and was later tapped to head the HR function for Univision Local Media’s portfolio of owned and operated television stations across the country.
Prior to joining UCI, Ruiz-Cornejo served as managing consultant for AIG, overseeing an entire portfolio of human capital projects for the Retirement Services Division. She also held roles of progressive responsibility as HR leader supporting large client groups with Baker Hughes and PepsiCo. She started her career with Procter & Gamble, where she led the Talent Acquisition team for Mexico and Central America.
Ruiz-Cornejo holds a M.Sc. (with Honors) in Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations from the London School of Economics, and a B.A. in International Relations (Hons) from the National Autonomous University in Mexico.
