Walter Dengos is a Customer and Community Jurisdictional Manager at National Grid. In his role at National Grid, Walter coordinates customer and community activities in Oswego County for National Grid with local stakeholders (mayors, county officials, 911, emergency management personnel, chamber of commerce, charities, ect,…). He also manages large customer interactions regarding natural gas & electrical issues such as; growth / expansion; rates; billing; energy efficiency; etc,.. for around 25 large industrial customers.

Walter serves on the Board of Directors for Partners in Education and Business (PEB) (affiliate of MACNY – Manufacturers Association of Central New York) and the United Way of Greater Oswego County. He also mentors high school and some college students through his participation in the PTECH program and PEB activities.

Walter states that his career was sparked by his dad and uncle:
“My dad once gave me a binder filled with electrical formulas and examples of circuits (very fundamental) which he got from my uncle as he was being trained as a technician in the Air Force. I actually wanted to be a physical education – health teacher at the time but took math and fundamental engineering courses in college as directed by my dad. Then, I got a paid job working at SUNY @Buffalo in an electrical lab making printed circuit boards. After that, I got a job and some experience in a local steel plant in Buffalo as an electrical apprentice, the next year in an engineering role, and never looked back.”
