Tatiana Parker is an emerging community advocate in Syracuse, New York. She is currently employed with Syracuse Community Health Center, Inc. as an Insurance Application Specialist and Outreach Coordinator where she provides enrollment assistance, community education, and advocacy for health insurance. Parker holds an A.S in Human Services from Onondaga Community College and a B.A from SUNY Oswego in Political Science. After graduation Parker became involved politically at the local, state and federal levels through advocacy efforts, community group involvement and canvassing. She is committed to encouraging the free flow of information, which will allow individuals to navigate systems in effort to improve the quality of their lives..

Parker is a 2015 graduate of Citizens Academy, a program sponsored by F.O.C.U.S CNY and University College at Syracuse University to improve citizens’ understanding of the workings of effective government, and to encourage their involvement in the community. She is an active member of the National Council of Negro Women and Lambda Kappa Mu Sorority, Inc. which both have the goals of encouraging scholarship; providing community service and support; and improving the health and wealth of communities.

With her passion burning brightly for advocacy of individuals who traditionally haven’t had a “seat at the table”, she is pursuing her M.A in Social and Public Policy at Empire State College. She desires to increase minority involvement in civic engagement and public policy affairs so decisions are not continually made without the input of those whose lives are most affected.
